Courage to Express Your Voice: A Practical Workshop

February 5 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Courage to Express Your Voice: A practical workshop
What does it really take to speak your truth when fear lives in the body, not just the mind?
This 2-hour experiential workshop is a gentle, trauma-informed space for LGBTQI+ people and allies who want to explore self-expression, courage, and inner safety without pressure to “be confident” or push past fear.
Together, we’ll explore how fear around visibility, coming out, and authenticity is not a personal failure, but a nervous system response shaped by lived experience. Through simple science, reflective dialogue, and body-based tools, participants will learn how to work with fear instead of against it.
 What you’ll experience:
• A clear, accessible understanding of how fear and the nervous system work
• Insight into why self-expression can feel so vulnerable, especially in queer lives
• Gentle somatic grounding practices to create safety in the body
• EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) tapping to release emotional tension
• Supportive, inclusive group dialogue (sharing always optional)
• Practical tools you can use in real moments of vulnerability or truth-telling
You’ll leave with:
• Increased awareness of what holds you back from expressing yourself
• More emotional regulation and inner steadiness
• A felt sense of courage (not forced confidence)
• Permission to take up space — in your own way, at your own pace
